There are a lot of things I wish I had known when I formulated this dream of mine… to become a wedding photographer! I wish someone had sat me down and told me how to go about it, what to concentrate on and what to let go and I wish I had the System to read!
If you are a wedding photographer you’ve probably already heard of David Jay. DJ has been a game changer in the photography industry worldwide. He is the father of Showit (my website provider), PASS (the way I deliver my files to my wedding clients) and now he has come up with something I wish I had read two years ago. The system is a simple, step by step (FREE!) guide on how to establish yourself as a wedding photographer. It’s full of great info and I highly recommend reading it not only for the newbies but for seasoned pros as well! 😉 There are videos from actual wedding days, tips on how to establish/improve your business and great book recommendations.
I’m such a groupie I’ve ordered 3 business books from DJ’s list the minute I finished reading the System. In all honesty… I’d buy whatever that guy recommends! His caring, helpful, simple ways sweep me off my feet and I can only hope one day I’ll get to give him a big old bear hug for helping, inspiring and guiding me and so many of us out there! Thanks DJ!!! 😉
After indulging in some sweet treats, the fun with Alma + Curro has continued outside… having a wedding shoot with ballons has been high up on my dream photo list and I’m so glad I got to cross this one off! Just wait until you see what other crazy ideas I have in store! ;D Happy Weekend!!!
I get giddy with excitement before every shoot, but yesterday’s session with Alma and Curro was different. I was really really looking forward to meet them and I was even more excited than usual! 🙂 They were the first couple who signed up for my married couples’ session and their energy, love and enthusiasm shined through their very first email to me. They were full of great and fun ideas on how to make their shoot special and I couldn’t have picked a cuter couple to kick off my series of post wedding sessions. We agreed on the theme of cupcakes + balloons and quickly found THE PERFECT location, the Lolita Bakery as well. (If you ever visit Barcelona it’s a must try! everything is mouthwateringly beautiful and above all DELICIOUS!!!)
Now I have to admit, I have a serious problem… I just cannot decide on my favorite images (but can you blame me with couples like them?) so I decided to break up the session into two posts, so while I concentrate on the cupcake / bakery part today, I’ll show you the balloon pics tomorrow! 😉 Alma and Curro united is one of the most charming and fun couple I’ve ever met. They light up a room with their smiles and energy and I’m very fortunate to have been able to capture their love with my camera. Alma, you are soooooooo GORGEOUS and Curro… thank you so so much for working it for my camera (and having such an awesome style!), you are a real gem! ;D Ahhh… have I told you how much I adore my job?????? A LOT A LOT A LOT!!!! To be continued… 😉
I’m so so so excited for these pics that even though I just got home from the shoot an hour ago, I couldn’t wait to share a little sneak peek! 🙂 Alma and Curro were rockstar supermodels and I had so much fun shooting them! Special thanks to Lolita Bakery for providing the location and the yummy sweet treats! ;D More to come real soon… now back to editing!
