I know I say this every year (and every season) but this summer has truly gone by in a blink of an eye! I photographed my last wedding of the season last week and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect celebration to close my epic 2014 wedding season in Barcelona. My gorgeous Irish couple Joan and Paul’s wedding is one I cannot wait to share but beforehand I wanted to show you a few images from their engagement session from this summer. As the couple got married in a villa close to Sitges (a small coastal town just 30 min outside of Barcelona) we decided to photograph their engagement in this gem of a town as well. The results have been published in Belle & Chic a few months ago too. Congrats Joan and Paul, cannot wait to show you your wedding pictures soon!

Engagement session in Finland | Petra & Hanno
I can’t even tell you how stoked I was that I was invited to the Nordics not once but twice this year! After Karen & Hans’ wedding in Norway, I packed my wooly jumper again to head to Finland in July to photograph the engagement of Petra and Hanno.
Petra and I went to high school together back in Hungary a long looong time ago and while we knew of each other, we didn’t really know each other, however by the power of internet we stayed on each others’ radars so I couldn’t have been happier to visit her and her fiancé in their new home country to capture some fab memories of this very exciting time for them. (gotta love the internet!!!) While the weather was a bit Nordic, we found the perfect spot for our shoot in this tiny island just off the coasts of Helsinki which was beautiful and just how I’ve imagined Finland! Can’t wait to explore more of the Nordics soon!
A grey and pale pink Pennsylvania wedding | Adam & Monika
The reaction to last week’s secret Parisian proposal post was overwhelming to say the least! Clients I worked with years ago, brides whose wedding I will photograph next year, friends, family and even past guests from weddings dropped me emails, messages, text to say that the post and my pictures made them cry… gotta tell you… it’s the best feeling ever that I could have been involved in something so cool that has touched so many people, strangers who never have or will meet Adam & Monika….. so….. by the power invested in me by the internet, Adam I pronounce you the best
boyfriend husband in the world!!! Just know that your story made hearts beat faster, eyes teary and raised the bar for proposals worldwide! 🙂
As I mentioned in my previous post, after meeting this beautiful couple in Paris they decided to fly me into their wedding to Pennsylvania this past June. Their classically beautiful American, slightly Great Gatsby inspired grey and blush wedding in the beautiful Moonstone Manor close to Harrisburg was simply perfection. Beautiful weather, breathtaking surroundings and the most fun bridal party! 🙂
Monika is a jewellery designer just opening her own store this fall (go girl!!!) so all her jewellery & the groomsmen and of course Adam’s gold cufflinks have been handmade by her, while her crazy cool boss made their engagement and wedding rings. How special is that??? The dress, the cake, the sunset… everything was just perfect but totally insignificant compared to the most important detail… the look in Adam’s eyes gazing at her wife….guys I can only indulge you in cliches about how I wish nothing but the best for the rest of your lives, about how awesome you are and about how special your day has been for me…. so just THANK YOU!
Your friend for life xx
Secret Parisian Proposal
I kept a secret for a very very long time. One that kept me giddy with excitement and full of expectations… In November 2012, I photographed Adam and Monika’s epic engagement session in Paris. To this day this remains one of my favourite sessions ever for many different reasons, the good vibes, the great locations and most importantly the amazing new friends I made in Adam and Monika that day. But what noone apart from Adam and me knew was that I actually wasn’t hired to shoot an engagement session, but to shoot the proposal itself!!! Months of preparations, Skype meetings went into the planning… you see it’s not that easy secretly photographing someone you never met in one of the busiest touristic spots in the world in a place they never been to before, but we pulled it off! Butterflies in my stomach, shaking hands and a single bush to hide behind later these pictures were created which never saw the light of day till this June, a year and a half later…. We were sneaky masters and decided to plan the engagement session the day after the proposal, just to make sure that Monika didn’t suspect anything and Adam presented her with a beautiful album on their wedding day with THOSE pictures….. When I took these photographs I never expected that I could be the one next to Monika when she opened the surprise of her life, but these two flew me to Pennsylvania for their wedding and the long awaited picture reveal was without a doubt one of the highlights of my professional career so far. She cried, I cried and again with shaking hands and butterflies in my stomach through the tears I was lucky enough to capture yet another incredible and unforgettable moment…. have I mentioned recently how much I adore my job!? Thank you Monika and Adam…. thank you thank you thank you for all these incredible memories, your engagement rocked, your wedding rocked (next up on the blog!) and you guys rock…….
