Ildi and I went to college together and apart from being friends on Facebook and hearing about each other through common friends we didn’t have too much contact since thouse wild school years. Until one day, about a year ago she sent me the sweetest email anyone has ever sent me. She told me how much she liked my photography and my courage to go for my dreams and how much she is looking forward to being photographed by my camera one day. When my plans to travel to the US formalized she was back in touch asking if I’d be willing to make a quick stop in NYC to shoot her with her husband Dima for their 5th wedding anniversary. Well… it was kind of a no brainer and took me about a second to say YES!
Ildi and Dima has the cutest, most romantic fairy tale story anyone could ever wish for. After meeting on a convention in Las Vegas they fell head over heels for each other and in a few short months they were married and Ildi moved to New York to pursue a new life with the man of her dreams. After five years they are one of those couples who make you wanna give up your single life and settle down. They are the sweetest, kindest people and I was fortunate enough to not only shoot them but enjoy their hospitality as well while I stayed in New York a few extra days to discover the city.
You guys rock and I cannot thank you enough for having me over there! LOVE YOU!!!
For their session we planned a kind of perfect Sunday visiting some of their favorite spots in Brooklyn, like the Belleville cafe, Prospect Park or the Brooklyn Bridge Park. I felt like a local looking at the city through their eyes.
Prospect Park is the work of the guy who designed Central Park. The perfect place to escape the New York summer heat.
