Albums to Treasure

A few weeks ago I read this beautifully written article about why couples should invest in a wedding album as part of their photography package. It describes my feelings exactly and I highly recommend you read it and consider it when making your decision. “of all the things you spend money on for your wedding, your wedding photographs are the ONLY thing that will increase in value over time. As the years pass, you’ll be more and more glad that you have them. Especially, if you can experience looking through them by flipping through a gorgeous custom-designed album instead of sitting in front of your computer and clicking “next” with your mouse.” I encourage all my clients to make this investment and I’m very happy to be able to offer gorgeous custom designed fine art albums for them with a matching presentation box, the kind that I’d love to have if I was a bride.(it goes without saying that you can order yours in different colors and sizes ;) )

I just received Adam & Monika’s engagement album in the mail so I decided to share a few imaged with you so you can see this amazingness for yourselves. I hope you like it!

Second Shooting: After Wedding Session in Cadaques

Almost exactly a year ago, I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend Rares Pulbere for one of his after wedding sessions at the picturesque Cadaques. I have only been to this magical town on the north of the Costa Brava a couple of times, but one thing is for sure… it always always takes my breath away and reminds me how lucky I am to live in this awesome region of the world! Cadaques is famous for being the home town of Salvador Dali and for being the place that inspired so many of his crazy cool paintings. Thank you Eilieen and Adhi for letting me tag along and thank you Rares for being your awesome self!!! ;)

P.S: check out Rares´photos from this session here. It always amazes me how differently two photographers can see the world! Our styles are so different, but honestly that what makes it so much fun shooting with him every once in a while. I love being challenged and supported by such lovely peers, it´s always such an experience! Thanks buddy! ;)

And here are a few images of Mr Pulbere in action:

Second Shooting: Edu + Lel | Wedding at Mon St Benet Barcelona

I´ve already written about my appreciation for Jeremy Standley´s work , so I´ll save the love letter this time ;) and just show you some of my favorite images from one of his late summer weddings I´ve had the pleasure of second shooting with him.

Edu and Lel had one of those super pretty and fascinating weddings that you just knew they were planning with lots of love and care for months and months. The über-cool couple got married in Mon St Benet, a stunning old monastery about 60 kms outside of Barcelona. Friends and family flew in from literally all over the world to share this very special day with the two of them… Edu´s Catalan family, Lel´s relatives from Tasmania and all of their friends from everywhere in between! Have I mentioned how much I love international weddings? ;)

There was so much prettiness on this wedding that I could gush about it for hours and hours on, but let me just highlight some of my absolute favorites, like Lel´s AMAAAAAAAZING wedding dress (one of my favorites from last year), the stylish yet vintage vibe of the whole event, the beautiful flower arrangements, the vintage handkerchief stand, the fun deco elements and the delicious food of course! ;)

Looking back at these pictures I can´t´help but be super happy and grateful that I do what I do and I CANNOT wait for the 2013 season to start! I´ve got the wedding boogie in my legs, my camera is ready to go, BRING IT ON!

I was in charge of taking Polaroid photos with Lel’s camera throughout the evening! ;) Thank you Jeremy for letting me tag along! As always it was such a pleasure and an amazing experience! See you soon again!

Agi & Gaspi | Budapest Wedding Photography

Now that the wedding season is over it’s finally time reorganize and look through what the past summer has brought. Looking over my folders I’ve realized that I’ve have not posted the images from one of my favorite weddings of the year, one of my best friends’ Agi’s wedding. I always aim to have an excellent relationship with my couples so that by the time their wedding day rolls in they’d feel like I’m a good friend taking their pictures, but when it’s someone’s wedding who has been one of my besties for over ten years the friend with the camera thingy gets real! Being a guest and a photographer at the same time sure has its challenges but I couldn’t let anyone else taking Agi and Gaspi’s pictures so I was gladly wearing two hats on the big day (and brought along a second shooter for the party time)! ;)

Agi and Gaspi (remember their Parisienne engagement session?) got married in the Buda castle in Budapest and guests flew in from all over the world to celebrate their true love story with them. Some nasty rain clouds were trying to scare us, but luckily the rain held off until the dinner party under a tent, so we were overall lucky to have been able to celebrate and shoot outside. I must highlight the amazing catering of the wedding, I still have dreams about the vegetarian stuffed cabbage they served at midnight! Yummmmyyyyyy…..

I LOVE YOU GUYS and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for the two of you! Thanks for letting me capture your big day! ;)

Carol & Carlos | Barcelona Wedding Photography

Sometimes I really wish I was a much better writer…. There are so many things I want to tell you about these two, I don’t know where to start and how to put it into words…. Carol and Carlos have a very special 16 year old love story. Yes, that was not a typo… sixteen years old!!! I know what you’re thinking…. did they meet in kindergarden? Well almost…. they sure took their time :) but when they decided to tie the knot their whole family and circle of friends was ecstatic and they threw one hell of a celebration for these two. (you may remember their pretty engagement session from a few months ago)

I love people who smile when it’s raining and putting on a smiley face when it’s raining cats and dogs on your wedding day must be extremely difficult. Not to mention that due to the extreme weather conditions they had to reorganize the whole wedding ceremony and get married at the reception venue instead of their planned outdoor garden wedding. There were bumps on the road yes, but you couldn’t tell.. and that is the true spirit of love! This is the advice I always give to all my clients… let it go… whatever happens happens and there is no point in stressing over things out of our control. C&C sure let it go, danced in the rain, celebrated big time, kissed like teenagers in love and I was overjoyed to have been able to be part of this very special day. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! I really really do!  You were beautiful and radiant, it was a true honor being by your side on the big day!

I fell totally in love with Carol’s AIRE Barcelona gown and killer Adolfo Dominguez heels
