I can’t believe it’s finally happening. It’s a miracle, a joy, a blessing in the sky! But let’s not run ahead… first of all, let me welcome you on the blog of En Route Photography, my baby, my miracle, my company. My company! It feels so good to say it. I’ve worked tirelessly in the past few months to make it all happen and things are finally coming together. Didn’t I say I won’t run ahead? Ok, let’s start at the beginning.
Once upon a time there was a Hungarian girl growing up in a nice house in a small town, just above the biggest photography studio there was in the county. She’d stuck her nose to the kitchen window and admire the couples, brides, mommys and daddys and all the pretty girls coming to take their pictures there. She always thought that being a photographer, being surrounded by all these happy people and being able to capture their images must be the absolute best job in the world! Coming from a very rational family with zero creative history (they were all mathematics and physics teachers) she never even dared to think that she could be a photographer. Years went by, she went to business school, traveled the world and made new friends at all corners of the planet and with time she got a very nice, well paying corporate job. She was doing very good for her age and she really couldn’t complain that she wasn’t appreciated by her company. However, the more she worked, the more she climbed on that career ladder, the more unhappy she became. She knew she didn’t want to get stuck in a cubicle for the rest of her life, if only she’d known what she wanted to do… One day she bought a nice camera and slowly started to snap pictures of everything around her. Her friends, her food, her feet… everything, everyday, all the time. She also started to discover the big wide world of blogs, which connected her to some amazing women, entrepreneurs, creative souls. She was shocked by the kindness, knowledge and support she’s found online. Not only did she found amazing friends who made their dreams come true but she has slowly started to realize what she really wanted in life. To be happy. To wake up every morning excited for the job she has to get done that day, to work for something that she believes in and brings joy not only to herself but to other people too. She slowly started to realize that her camera might just be the key to wonderland. Could she really do it?
Yes I can! 🙂 I decided that if I really really wanted, I could indeed do anything I put my mind to, if you can dream it , you can live it as the saying says, so I set out to give my all and try my very best to master the craft of photography. I signed up to art school, studied in every spare minute I had (I got very little sleep, let’s admit it), I assisted fashion and wedding photographers, worked with stylists on various projects, done maternity, couple and beauty shots for friends and continued to shoot everything and anything, all the time. After about a year I parted with my corporate job and started to really live, breath and create my business. I am happier than ever and cannot wait to make my dreams come true. I’m very excited to be able to share this journey with you!
Welcome to my new life, welcome to En Route Photography!
