It’s hard to believe it’s been almost four years since I started this blog, En Route and this whole big crazy adventure into wedding photography. At the time I just quit my job and all I had, was loads of enthusiasm, will and a solid base of online marketing knowledge, but very little money to invest in my newly founded company. I did what most small entrepreneurs do… I asked my dear friend Google for help and together we spent some very late nights figuring out how to design a logo, what blog platform, template to choose and how to customise it (hello frustration!). I also decided on using the Showit platform for my portfolio website and was trying to make as much of it on my own as I could. I created a brand that I liked, that reflected my new company, my travel lust and helped me connect with my target audience. (however it was quite a painful process, so if any one of you reading this is in the same shoes now and can afford it, HIRE A PROFESSIONAL DESIGNER! :))
Fast forward four years…. a LOT has happened… I have grown and changed, moved countries, have fallen in love and alongside me, En Route has grown and changed and has become so much more than I ever thought it was possible. I have grown out my DIY branding and this time, I knew I wanted some professional help. I’ve stumbled upon the mega cute and super creative Belinda Love Lee and together we set out on a journey to rebrand En Route, give it a fresh, modern but more sophisticated and more grown up feel. It’s a hard job pouring your everything into a brand but Bee was just such a joy to work with and she created a beautiful logo and a kick-ass business card design for me. THANK YOU!!!!!!! Check out this post to read her side of the story and see some more examples of her work.
Once the basics were in place, I jumped back on the website design, blog redesign bandwagon and this time with a bit more experience, I updated all my online media outlets and while a few little tweaks are still on my to do list, basically IT’S READY!!!! 🙂
So without further ado, I’m proud to present the refreshed look of the En Route blog and the En Route website! A true labor of love… I hope you’ll like it! 🙂
