As soon as I met Marilo and Laia I knew it! I had to be their wedding photographer and was ready to fight off my competitors if needed to! 🙂 Luckily the ladies agreed and I excitedly jumped into their wedding adventure counting down the days till their Sitges beach wedding in the Hotel Terramar on June 14th. This was a very special wedding for me for several reasons, not only because I had two beautiful brides to work with, but also because they were getting married in the sand right on the beach (which is something most unusual in Barcelona), because they are surfer girls after my own heart and because they also enlisted the help of some of my favourite local designers, Carolina from Otaduy for their gowns and Charo Ruiz for their shoes! But all obvious prettiness aside, this wedding was nothing sort of beautiful, full of tears (yes, my own as well), laughter and dancing! Oh the dancing! These girls sure know how to throw a party!!! The dancing started before dinner, continued during dinner and lasted till the early morning hours. Yep, a certain wedding photographer might have been shaking some moves on that dance floor as well……… psssst don’t tell anyone! 🙂
I know I say this every year (and every season) but this summer has truly gone by in a blink of an eye! I photographed my last wedding of the season last week and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect celebration to close my epic 2014 wedding season in Barcelona. My gorgeous Irish couple Joan and Paul’s wedding is one I cannot wait to share but beforehand I wanted to show you a few images from their engagement session from this summer. As the couple got married in a villa close to Sitges (a small coastal town just 30 min outside of Barcelona) we decided to photograph their engagement in this gem of a town as well. The results have been published in Belle & Chic a few months ago too. Congrats Joan and Paul, cannot wait to show you your wedding pictures soon!
I love my clients. I know it sounds like a cheesy marketing slogen, but I really really do! Developing my business and getting more and more work means that I get to work more with my ideal clients as well, fun, interesting, cosmopolitan people who make me feel like we could be best friends… like Nicola and Kevin.
I have been wanting to shoot in Sitges (one of my favorite spots to escape to around Barcelona) for quite some time now, so I was ecstatic when these two agreed to do their post wedding session there.
What a couple! What a love story! What a cute family! Aaaand…. would you tell that Nicola is 6 months preggers on these pics??? I didn´t think so!!! I´m very excited to photograph them again next week, this time with their son Lukas and starring a growing belly! 😉 HAPPY WEEKEND everyone!
I was fortunate enough to work with several photographers over the summer, but one of my favorite second shooting experiences was Emma and Charlie’s wedding with Jeremy Standley. Jeremy is a true wedding industry veteran with countless awards in his pocket, a portfolio of amazing weddings and breathtaking images and more experience than any other photographers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. It was an honor just to be chosen by him to second shoot some of his Barcelona weddings, but his openness, willingness to help and guidance proved more valuable than my semester in photo school and I’ll be forever thankful to him. He is challenging, firm (but fun ;)) and has a no nonsense attitude which pretty much makes him the perfect mentor for me! 😉
Emma and Charlie got married in Sitges (a few kilometers outside of Barcelona) and celebrated in Almiral de la Font, a gorgeous private villa with their friends and family, most of whom flew in all the way from the UK. Their wedding was full of charm and small details that made the day very memorable, starting with their intimate ceremony in the tiniest little hillside church followed by their hillarious reception with the funniest groomsmen and finished with an awesome party with a live band (that Emma found in a club on her bachelorette party in Mallorca :)).
Thank you so much Jeremy for sharing this experience with me! I had a blast and I hope to rock many more wedding with you next summer! 😉
